Description
The book is a history of alternative Polish theatre. The Author presents groups which stemmed from two different genres; the “origins” theatre, which began with Jerzy Grotowski (i.e. The Laboratorium Theatre, Gardzienice, Pieśn Kozła) and the student theatre (i.e. The 8th Day Theatre, Biuro Podróży, Provisorium). Kornaś tells their stories as well as explaining their significance and activities in Polish culture.
Tadeusz Kornaś is a theatre critic, theatre historian and the Editor in Chief of the Polish theatre monthly “Didaskalia”.
